60k?

A neighbour in the next block whose flat is of the same size as ours is selling his flat for a COV of $60k. That's insane. We're living in Woodlands, not Bishan or Clementi!

Even if it's Bishan or Clementi, I think it's insane for anyone to pay it. But then again, it's entirely demand and supply. Commoners like me will just take a backseat and watch.

A 1-BR condo at the heart of Bangkok, newly built is now going for SGD120K. A 1-BR SOHO at woodlands (Woodhaven) is quoted for SGD 668K.

BKK anyone?

got view or not? If the flat has a view of the sea, or greenery plus tip top renovation, 60k too much la. But woodlands, where can it be facing? Plus, we're only paying for air! The higher, the fresher air we get lor. sigh.....

kailing - housing price is ridiculous and getting way out of hand! who are fueling the demand and causing the COV component to skyrocket beyond belief?! i dunno why our good govt kept on harping about how singaporeans are so lucky that our homes continue to appreciate and the value only goes up up up. so what if it does? it's not an asset that we can liquidate. so what if a family can say that they have $400,000 worth of asset to their name when they cant even put food on the table? this family can now sell their house, is it? then live where? in a tent by the beach? aiyoooh. see how i've started ranting. tsk tsk.

but it's really quite sad lah. this constant appreciation of the value of flats in singapore only benefit the upgraders at best. you sell high, you buy high also. but what about people who are just about to enter the market? such a short-sighted policy.

rohana - dont have view lah. this block is sandwiched between 2 other blocks. i once went to view a unit (in another block) which was advertised as unblocked. but, behind got block. in front also got block. then the (low-life scum of an) agent said, if you sit in the living room and look out of the main door, you can have an unblocked view. it was a true-blue genuine i-dunno-what-to-say moment.
